Marine and Coastal Protected Areas: a Call for a study on the management approaches
SPA/RAC has launched a call for tender to develop a guidance document that will serve as a basis for more effective and sustainable management of Marine and Coastal Protected Areas (MPAs) in Tunisia.
The study to be carried out consists of an analysis of various forms of MPA management, as defined by Law 49-2009 on the creation of Marine and Coastal Protected Areas.
The skills and experience required are as follows:
For the principal consultant:
- Advanced degree in biology or ecology, environmental sciences, geography,
or related discipline.
- Advanced experience in the field of marine and coastal protected areas.
- Excellent writing skills in French, with the ability to write high-quality and unambiguous texts.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
For the second consultant:
- Degree in legal sciences or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of the laws and legal framework relating to marine and coastal areas protected in Tunisia.
- Excellent drafting skills in French, with the ability to produce high-quality and unambiguous texts.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
The Regional Activity Centre for Specially Protected Areas (SPA/RAC) was set up by the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention to help Mediterranean countries implement the Protocol concerning Specially Protected Areas and Biological Diversity in the Mediterranean (SPA/DB Protocol).
The deadline for receipt of tenders is 22 November 2023 at 23:59 UTC+1 (Tunis time).
