INFO/RAC meets the students of the State Scientific High School "Louis Pasteur" in Rome
As part of the activities of the Transversal Skills and Orientation Pathways (PCTO) of the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), the Information and Communication Regional Activity Centre (INFO/RAC) based at the Institute promoted the third edition of the training course A lesson in environmental governance: discovering actions for the Mediterranean Sea and its coasts. The course, which started on 30 January 2025, sees the participation of 21 students from the State Scientific High School "Louis Pasteur" in Rome.
The programme envisages 22 hours of training during which the students will meet with representatives of the INFO/RAC Centre and the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) to learn more about the role and tasks of some of the main international and national institutions responsible for environmental protection. The Barcelona Convention will be discussed, the decision-making mechanisms of the Conference of Parties (COP) negotiations will be illustrated, and the Mediterranean Regional Activity Centres will be described, with particular reference to the activities of the INFO/RAC Centre. The theoretical lectures will be complemented with workshop activities aimed at stimulating interest in towards the production of dissemination materials on the main topics covered during the training course.
Lastly, on 11 April 2025, an Environmental Info-Day will be organized at the High School, during which the students will act as spokespeople for their peers on what they have learnt.
