Press Release on the Pelagos Sanctuary

The Permanent Secretariat of the Pelagos Agreement is pleased to announce the 2nd International Meeting of the Signatory Municipalities of the Pelagos Partnership Charter that will be held on 22 June 2023 in Sassari (Sardinia).

For a whole day, the Municipality of Sassari will host the meeting in the "P. Sassu" hall of the L. Canepa Conservatory in the presence of national authorities and representatives of Italian and French municipalities signatories of the Partnership Charter.

During the meeting, virtuous initiatives promoted by the Municipalities will be presented and proposals to amend the Partnership Charter will be discussed. Two round tables are also planned to strengthen the cross-border dialogue of the Municipalities and to define the role of Marine Protected Areas and National Parks in supporting the implementation activities of the Partnership Charter.

At the end of the day, a concert will be held during which the vocals of marine mammals, the extraordinary inhabitants of the Cetacean Sanctuary, will be performed.
