First meeting of INFO/RAC National Focal Points: Communication as ONE

“Communication as ONE” a new way to communicate in the MAP system.

"Communication as one": this is the slogan launched today, April 16th, by INFO / RAC, the Regional Activity Centre for Information and Communication of the UN Environment MAP, hosted by ISPRA, the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research.

The MAP Operational Communication Strategy presented by INFO/RAC to its National Focal Points in Rome will give a new way to communicate to all the MAP system.

Mr. Alessandro Bratti, ISPRA director, expressed his appreciation for the work carried out by the Institute, engaged in this important international role. The innovative aspects of the Operational Communication Strategy were underlined by the MAP Coordinator, Mr. Gaetano Leone, focusing attention on the ability to develop a network between countries and to achieve different targets, including the general public.

In the two days meeting (16 -17 April 2019) for the first time a data policy document was presented in the framework of Barcelona Convention. The “MAP Data Management Policy” document was submitted to the Contracting Parties as a general framework from which to start to develop a sharing data policy in the next biennium after receiving a clear mandate at the next COP21.
