The third edition of the Istanbul Environment Friendly Citiy Award (IEFCA) – the applications are open

As announced during the Mediterranean Coast Day, the local authorities from small towns and metropolitan agglomerations located along the Mediterranean coast are invited to apply until Monday 25 January 2021 to the third edition of Istanbul Environment Friendly City Award (IEFCA).

Funded by the Government of Turkey, the IEFCA was created in the framework of the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD) to recognize and reward the efforts of local authorities that undertook concrete steps and achieved progress in protecting the environment, improving the quality of life and promoting sustainable development in the Mediterranean coastal cities.

It is important to recall that  local authorities have a fundamental role to play to entrench sustainability in the Mediterranean at a time when we aspire to building back greener and to achieving a green renaissance in the Region.
