WES Info - Consolidation activities on Green Banking and support to green investment opportunities to curb plastic waste in Jordan
As part of the EU-funded project "Water and Environment Support (WES) in the ENI Southern Neighbourhood region", the WES team of environmental experts designed and developed a national activity in Jordan covering "Consolidation activities on Green Banking and support to green investment opportunities to curb plastic waste in Jordan", providing technical assistance.
This activity was organized in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Environment (MoENV), from August 2021 to December 2023.
Its objective was to support the implementation of the green economy roadmap and green investment opportunities, in particular in the plastic waste sector in Jordan, and on the treatment of single-use plastics (SUP).
The activity also aimed to improve understanding of the factors that enable or prevent Jordan's central and commercial banks, as well as the private sector, from investing in green projects.
